If The Black Leather Glove Fits......

Hello everybody and welcome to Hair In The Air, The Official Blog of 3D In Your Face.  I hope you all had an amazing Halloween.  Thank you to everybody that came out to The 21st Saloon.  I believe we may have broke our attendance record.  Not to mention that you all looked so amazing and it really created quite the atomosphere inside of the bar.  If you missed this party well you are in luck, next year Halloween is on a Saturday night.  I can only imagine the crazy night that is going to be.  We are back this week out on the road bigger and badder than ever.  First of all of course we will be hitting The 21st Saloon this Friday, Nov. 7th, but there is a catch.  We have decided to bring in our good buddy and amazing Karaoke guru DJ Steve for an all-star edition of 80's Karaoke before the show and on our set breaks.  Because of a prior commitement we will be taking the stage a bit later than usual, around 10 PM, to accomodate everybody.  So in our place we are giving you our super fans the chance to get up there and Rock our faces off.  Only one stipulation to the rules is that it must be an 80's song.  Get there early and get your name in the rotation.  The boys and I will be out in the crowd listening.  Saturday, Nov 8th we will be traveling to Dow City, IA to a bar we played at once before called Cheers.  Yup just like the TV show which I happened to watch every episode this year.  If you are looking for a road trip or live in Western Iowa set your sites for Cheers and get ready to have your face rocked off small town style (the best style).

For this weeks blog I want to share with you my new life cleanse.  I have talked with a few people about this but I want to put it out there in the blog to get your opinion on this.  I have made a decision to devote myself to Rock N Roll piety.  Now this may sound contradictory and may even sound ridiculous but trust me in the last few days this has already worked to start relieving stress and getting my head back in the game.  Let me take you back a few months, as the band begins to gain ground and success it seems that it has become easier and easier for me to sit back and let my focus slip.  The trapping and notoroiety begin to seap into your life and it makes it easy to forget where you came from and why you started doing all of this in the first place.  The egos and attitudes begin to control your daily life and you get away from that pure driven place that the Rock N Roll flowed from.  Othere things become more important than listening to music, writing songs, responding back to friends, just plain being inspired.  I started to take the  art  out of the music and I felt like I was starting to become something I wasn't.

Thusly I have started a journey that I hope will take me back to my creative center.  Just last night I wrote and amazing hook for a new song that gave me goosebumps.  It has been a few months since that has happened.  I have commited myself to listening to more music.  New music from up and coming Glam bands, punk bands, and heavy metal bands as well as old stuff that really influenced my coming up.  We gain so much inspiration from the songs that came before us.  The way things used to be and the way those songs still make us feel today.  I have dedicated myself to watching more music videos and enjoying the visuals aspect of our art.  Not only musically but phyisically I have set goals to drink more water, get more rest every evening, keeping pushing myself in my running, and live a healthier life.  Emotionally I still want to live in the momment.  There is still so much I want to feel and experience and I want to be able to write about it.  I want to experience the highs and the lows of life.  I wan't to feel things that don't involve me being on stage.  Rock N Roll is what I am really good at but there's a whole other world out there waiting for me to discover it.  My journey has just begun but I hope that this changes in my life increase the quality of my life.  I am going back to basics not only to create and be inspired but to live and feel things again.

  1. We've all been there Sam, it's really easy to get caught up and then all of a sudden you're like "WTF? How did I get so far over here?"

About once a year I have to refocus myself lol.

Glad to hear you've got your head back in the Rock n Roll game and can't wait to hear that hook and all the songs you'll be coming up with!
