Whatever It Takes, This Is My Path

Hello Rockstars.  Welcome to Hair In The Air, The Official Blog of 3D In Your Face.  First of all I would like to thank each and everyone of you for reading this blog.  Last week over 300 people visited this blog and I can't thank you enough.  This week is our last week of freedom.  Tentatively starting on the first Thursday of March, 3D In Your Face will begin recording for our new album.  This will be the follow up to the "Midnight Devils" record that was released in Dec. of 2013.  Can you believe it's been that long.  The songs are there and it's finally time to get them put down on tape.  So one last blow out weekend of fun before it's time to work.  This Friday, Feb. 26th we will be throwing another Glow Party at The 21st Saloon, hosted by Joey Neon and sponsored by Neon Energy Drinks.  There will be black lights, glow bracelets, and maybe even some neon paint.  As many of you know we tend to go on very little sleep day in and day out.  Almost everybody drinks something for energy during the day and why not make it a healthy drink that will stimulate you naturally.  (I like the way that sounds).  Neon Energy Drink is the healthier alternative to any other energy drink and now you can try it for yourself.  Saturday the full band will be held up in rehearsals in anticipation of the upcoming studio session.  If you are willing to make the road trip our acoustic band The Midnight Devils will be performing a full set at Willard's Bar in Steinhauer, NE.  This will be our last full acoustic show of our debut tour that started back in Sept.  Things will pick up again at the end of March for The Midnight Devils but for now we are focused %100 on 3D In Your Face and the new album.  If you can't make the road trip don't forget to tune into my radio show HAIR IN THE AIR, on Saturday night at 10 PM CST on 101.9 The Keg.

We are finally on the home stretch and not a minute to soon.  It was about this time back in September, one week until we stepped into the studio that Dax left the group.  There's a ton of work to be done but the ground work is ready to go.  I've written this blog before so I don't want to repeat myself.  Our amazing sound man Troy Way will be at the helm producing this record again.  We have 11 tracks ready to go and I'm about to throw everything I have at this project.  One thing that keeps popping up in my mind is "History".  I think this can be said about almost every album ever written, the songs become a time capsule.  If I look back at the songs from "Midnight Devils" I realize I wrote those lyrics about a very uncertain time in my life.  I was broke, fresh from the rehab center, still a new member in 3D In Your Face.  My life was unstable and I chronicled it in the song lyrics.  Songs like "Generation Durt" and "Bleed Betty Bleed" were wrote in a friends basement at 4 AM.  Things were bleak but being in this band gave me hope.  "Sleeping In Omaha" is almost a completely true song about couch surfing with our then drummer Playboy.  We used to crash at our lighting guys house in North Omaha and things got very intense with that many personalities all under one roof.  I look back at those songs and have only good memories and I hope they bring good memories to others.

So what's changed?  Well it's been almost three years.  I still feel very uncertain but I at least have a path to tred upon.  We are moving towards the light at the end of the tunnel.  Once again the songs on this album have all drawn inspiration from everything that has happened to us in the last three years.  The people, the places, the shows, the fights, the good times.  My goal has been to capture the whole adventure and put it into a song so it can be remembered forever.  When I look at it from the other side, it's not just my adventure or the bands adventure.  Every person that is connected to this band has been on an adventure of their own.  I want you to be able to listen to these songs and have the same great memories I have about this time in or lives.  We are all going through this together and I can't tell you how much that means to me.  Amazing people have been coming in and out of our lives,  supporting us, following us from town to town, standing up for us, and encouraging us to carry on.  When I listen to these songs I will never forget the faces looking back at me.  I will never forget the shitty bars or giant arenas.  It's almost as if we are explorers on a quest for something.  I'm not yet quite sure what we are all looking for but I know every minute has been worth it.  This album is as much for us as it is for you.  Right now I believe my places is to be a defiante out-spoken believer in true raw, emoitional, dirty Rock N Roll.  Whatever it takes I believe this is my path.

Always Loud
Forever Proud
