Hello everybody and welcome to HAIR IN THE AIR, The Official Blog of 3D In Your Face. Many more miles log this week and I can say played one of the wildest outside shows of the bands career. Thank you Fremont it was truly our pleasure to melt your faces off. I have something very special for you people for this weeks blog. Before we get to the good stuff, coming up this week we have two amazing shows that you wont want to miss. First of all Friday, July 18th we will be throwing a huge birthday bash at The 21st Saloon. We will be wishing our very good friend and amazing bartender Kelsey Gibbs a happy birthday by dropping the door charge. That's right Friday, July 18th will be a FREE show at The 21st Saloon. Now you honestly have no reason to miss this show. No guest lists, no sponsors, no VIP tables. This is just a down n dirty Rock N Roll party. Spread the word. Next up we will be logging a few more miles and traveling to Kearney this Saturday, July 19th for a one-night only performance at Shooters. What makes this show so special is that this is the same night as the Kearney Cruise Night. So on top of getting your Rock N Roll fix, the entire downtown area of Kearney will be covered in classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars, rat rods, and cruisers. As most of you know we like to think that Kearney is our second home and we are very excited to be coming back to the coolest club in Western Nebraska, Shooters. Get there early this place gets crowded fast.
On to the task at hand. A few weeks back at rehearsal we brought up the topic of "What's Next?". After the summer tour ends what is our plan of attack. Well I can answer that question very easily. We are going to be putting out another album. There is no date set and there are no plans as of yet for a release. We set a goal as a band to release another album by the end of 2014 or early 2015. We have worked so hard week in and week out gaining momentum and we don't want to loss any of that by sitting on our hands for another year. Besides that back in the day bands regularly put out an album a year. They tour, wrote, recorded and then toured some more. Granted this may seem like a huge undertaking but I believe we have the fortitude to accomplish this lofty goal. Not only a new album but new video, single, pre-order, and merch. The whole nine. To prove that our Midnight Devils album wasn't just a flash in the pan we are pushing ourselves to get our fans new material. Not only that but as artist we have this need to create. I have a book of lyrics that are tugging at my heart that I need to let free.
Without further adieu I am very happy to present to you one of the first demos from the upcoming album. Before you listen just realize that this song was recorded on my iPhone in a garage. It's just me, my guitar, and a tiny amp. Just because this is a demo doesn't mean that this song will make the cut for the new album. The next step is to bring this in to the rest of the guys and let them create their own signature sound and make it uniquely our own. My goal here is to give you a taste of the writing process. I also wanted to document this so that when we do release our next album I can bring this back up and compare the differences from the first run to the final product. This is about the 5th song I have finished and this was the easiest most Rock N Roll song I have ever written. I give you "Memphis Mile" Enjoy.
