Hello everyone and welcome again to HAIR IN THE AIR the official blog for 3D In Your Face. As most of you know we had a very wild weekend last week. 3D In Your Face made it's first official trip to the Omaha Entertainment Awards held at The Hilton Hotel in downtown Omaha. We were nominated by you, our fans for the best cover band of 2012. For years I have read about the OEAA awards and it was always my goal to be nominated and go to the award ceremony. This year we were honored by your nomination and showed up in true Rock N Roll style. Jone-Z Party bus out of Omaha supplied us with a white stretch Rock N Roll limousine and we cruised through downtown Omaha with Andrew W. K. blasting through the stereo, before eventually ending up at The Hilton. As we walked through the spinning glass doors the entire lobby stopped and turned to look at use. Everyone wanted pictures. I have never taken so many pictures in my life. We were true rock stars. I even got the pleasure of having my picture taken with an entire volleyball team (wish I had a copy of that one to show the future grand kids). We ended up at the bar and grabbed a couple drinks but we didn't even have a chance to drink them because of all the people wanting their picture taken with us. Upstairs in the ball room we got the chance to meet some of our fellow Omaha musicians and show everyone that we were there to represent all you wild and crazy Rock N Roll fanatics. I was so proud to be there in that ballroom and sitting at the table with my best friends. We had a blast we laughed a lot and eventually got to see our name up on that big screen. Unfortunately this year wasn't our year to take home the award but it almost didn't matter. We had come there for one thing and one thing only, to make the biggest scene anyone in Omaha music has ever made. Mission accomplished. After the ceremony we took some time for a few more pictures and chatted with Susan Borchers, the notorious Rock N Roll media liaison, before being whisked away in our limousine. Even though we didn't get to take home the crystal trophy I can guarantee you that we had more fun than any band or artist there. The thing that stuck with me the most was the fact that we as a band had so many friends and family behind us supporting us. As we sat there waiting for our category I was overwhelmed with the fact that so many people were rooting for us and wanting us to succeed.
Later that night after the ceremony each of us (except Playboy because he is private like that) posted the news on facebook. I never expect to see such an out-pouring of love from all of you. I think withing two days my post got 30 'likes' and 20 comments. Hot Rod's and Snyper's posts got just as many. Even though we didn't with the trophy Sunday night I still felt like the luckiest guy in the world. I truly could feel the love from each and every one of you. Honestly those comments where a thousand times better than winning some trophy. We are blessed as a band to have such amazing fans and for you all to unite under a common goal blew me away. Let that other band have their trophy I will hang out with you guys any day of the week. I got a chance to talk with my father about Sunday's event and the new show and tour. He was really excited for me and probably said one of the coolest things ever to me, "Sam (my dad doesn't call me Spade), I hope that you never have to work a 9 to 5 job in your life." That really hit me harder than I think he realized. I responded with "Dad I am working on that every single day." What a great guy.

But in reality this whole OEAA award has really inspired me and the guys. We have already begun to make 2013 bigger and better than last year. Sure we had a lot of good times last year but I felt like 2012 was a turn around year for us. I was still a new full time member and I really had never played in a band this big. Now that I know where I stand and where the band is I am more motivated than ever to accomplish our goals and prove to the rest of the world that 3D In Your Face is a force to be reckoned with. We are already booked for more shows than last year which means we will get to play for each and every one of you. Now I leave it up to you. I promise you I will work my ass of every day for this band and you our amazing fans. You have to promise me that you will keep up your support and spread the word about 3D In Your Face. Share this blog. Share our websites. But most of all never stop believing in Rock N Roll.
As the impending Snow-pocalypse moves closer and closer, I want to let you know that thing will be OK and we will survive. That's right you heard it here first 3D In Your Face WILL be playing this Friday, Feb 22nd at The 21st Saloon. Not only will we be playing but we will be throwing our first ever Undying Love Valentine's Day Ball and Clothing Drive. The sponsors for this week are The Omaha Zombie Research Society and Dr. San Guinary. So what happens at The Valentine's Day Ball? First of all we are encouraging you to bring Valentine's cards (they are on sale so why not), make Valentine's boxes (each member of 3D In Your Face will have a box), and dress as the post apocalyptic undead. Dr. San Guinary will be shooting video for his new Creature Feature show and everyone needs to look like a Zombie or Zombie hunter. Also there will be a Zombie makeup contest, 5 contestants will get a chance to make themselves over as a brain-eating member of the undead with the winner recieving a $30 bar tab at The 21st Saloon. Dr. San Guinary's Zombikini Calendar Girls will be on hand to sing some autographs and take some blood samples. But most importantly we will be collecting old clothes for the Siena Francis House. So go through those closets and basements and grab some old clothes you don't wear anymore and bring them out this Friday. I heard if you have a piece of clothing in your closet that you haven't worn in a year that you will never wear it again. Think about that when you are looking for clothes to help out the less fortunate. And finally if you need a ride Hot Rod has graciously offered up his 4x4 truck and will pick you up if Snow-pocalypse makes the roads to scary for you. Just message him your name and number and he will swing by and pick you up. What other band would be crazy enough to cram all this into one single snow-filled-zombi-brain-eating-80s-rock-n-roll night. 3D In Your Face BABY. Get Nasty.
One more thing before I leave you. For all our Fremont fans and my family in particular we will be at Uncle Larry's on March 2nd. There will be an article in The Fremont Tribune and I will be doing an interview on KHUB next week. Keep your eyes and ears open, I hope I can see all of you out at Uncle Larry's March 2nd.
Until next time.
