The Fluffier Side of 3D In Your Face

Hello everyone and welcome again to another wonderful edition of HAIR IN THE AIR.  The Official 3D In Your Face Blog.  A very hairy-hello to you first time readers and welcome back to all you repeat offenders.  I am very excited this week to be writing about a topic that is very near and dear to our hearts.  We are going to be diving very deep on this trip.  I am talking behind behind the scenes.  The idea for this weeks blog came to me at 3 AM while we were riding down the highway in the bus.  As a band there really aren't a whole lot of things we talk about at 3 AM on a cold ass bus heading towards home.  We talk a lot about the military, because it seems to intrigue us quite a bit.  We talk about the crazies at the last show, two bar fights at our show in Rock Port, MO.  Last but not least, and this always gets brought up, we talk about our cats.  For some reason or another everyone in 3D In Your Face is or was a cat owner (except Playboy, he tends to hate most animals).  We as a band have a pretty solid rule, "Never bring up your cats to a stranger in public".  It never sounds as cool as you think and it makes you seem like a crazy person.  Well right here right now I'm going to be doing both of those things and I don't care.  I'm going to lay it out on the line.  I'm going to show you our best friends.  I'm going to show your our constant companions.  No matter how long you've been gone, no matter what mood you're in, and no matter how bad you smell these furry guys will be there waiting at the front door for you to walk in.  Unconditional love cat-style.  Welcome my friends to the "Fluffier Side of 3D In Your Face".

First off I would like to start out with a cat who is no longer with us.  Alan "Hot Rod" King was the proud owner of Alex.  Alex was a main stay in Alan's house.  Every time I went over there I remember walking in on this amazing ball of fur.  One of the nicest cats I have ever met.  Alan rescued Alex when he was a kitten in Gretna.  Alan had picked up another job at a bowling alley to make some extra crash.  One fateful night after the bowling alley closed Alan came in to clean the lanes.  As he was walking back to his truck he heard Alex off in the distance alone and helpless.  Next thing you know Alex is scooped up and brought back to Alan's house.  Alex was the roar behind this rockstars scream for 18 years.  Alex you are always missed and never forgotten.
Second, third, and fourth we have the two kings and queen of the Snyper Castle.  Cosmo, Jeep, and Stimpy.  If you have ever been to Snyper's house and most of you haven't.  On any given day you will find a coffee table full of guitar parts, a stack of guitar cases on the ground, and a couch full pur-maniac cats.  These three beasts were all rescued from around the country.  Jeep the cool cat, was rescued from North Carolina and is a Hemingway Cat.  He has extra toes for more traction.  Jeep.  Get it?  Cosmo was saved from a shelter in Cleveland.  He a black cat and is the most miscivious of the group.  Stimpy is the lone female and Snyper considers her the Diva of the group.  Stimpy just always has that look on her face.  How can you say no to these three?

Fifth and sixth we have Troy "Phase 2" Way's two furry devils, Sam and Polly.  Troy was the only one that followed my directions and wrote bio's for his cats.  So here you go.
Sam is 12 years old and we have had her the whole 12 years she has been alive.  She got here nickname (puppy) as a kitten, when she wanted to play she would growl at you like a dog.  Then she got bigger and older and we had to pick out a new nickname, Fatty!  She is a huge cat weighing in at around 22 pounds.  She can be a real bitch and not like other people, but she can be really protective of her surroundings and of me and Jamie.  She Rocks.  Next is Polly.  Polly is 8 years old and we rescued her from an abusive family.  She wandered into a back yard at a 4th of July party Jamie was attending and at first glance she thought Polly was a rat.  When she went and picked Polly up she was going to return her to her owners yard.  The people at the party said "Don't take her back, those people hit animals".  So Jaime decided to bring the cat home and we would find a good home for her.  WELL!  Once I got home and saw that beautiful cute face it was love at first sight.  Polly is my best friend and baby.  She greats me at the top of the stairs everyday and she can't wait for me to pick her up and hold her.  Polly is one of the biggest babies I know.  She will start to cry if I leave her too long....actual tears!  She is the best!
Lucky number seven is my cat Domino, and yes he is named after a KISS song and he knows the song is about a girl.  Domino was rescued one fateful night as I was coming home from a string of shows.  I was dead tired and heard this little sneeze.  There he was sitting on my stairs.  Two years later I find myself with a 20 pound best friend.  Domino is like me in almost every way.  He is loud, he is very very hairy, he plays to rough, he must always be the center of attention.  His favorite band is KISS and he really enjoys listening to records with me.  Domino is a free range cat.  He does what he wants when he wants and I never give him shit because he never gives me shit about being gone all the time.  I love this guy and I always look forward to opening my door and seeing him run out and down the three flights of stairs.  He is on 10 all the time and that is why I love him.
Last but certainly not least is Jake.  Jason "Chapz" Husak has arguably one of the wilder cats.  Jake is a Maine coon that tips the scales close to 25 pounds.  Jason told me the story that when he went out to look for a cat this little guy literally reached out and petted him on the hand.  "I think I love you".  Jake enjoy's wrestling in the snow, long walks on the beach,  furry mice, and Meow-Mix dinner by candle light.  Jake also likes to stay prim and proper  so Jason is forced to groom Jake like the lions of Africa.  Watch out home invaders this cat isn't messing around. The constant companion, Jake is always there for Jason.  Road warriors destined to spend their lives together.
We have a lot of great things coming up for you this week.  First 3D In Your Face will be taking a trip to see our personal stylists at Gloss Hair Salon and Day Spa.  This amazing team of women have been doing our hair for the last two tours.  It is not an easy job but trust me when I tell you, they are the best of the best.  A big congratulations, Gloss Hair Salon was voted The Best of Omaha  2012.   Melissa and Krisha and her team have taken hair, makeup, and massage to the next level.  If your in Omaha you need to check them out.  Of course Friday night Nov 30th, we will be playing at the 21st Saloon on our End of the World Tour.  This week our sponsor is The Glam Gore Girls.  These amazingly beautiful women combine sex and glamour with dark evil horror.  Intrigued?  We will have models on hand for you to view in the flesh.  We are also teaming up with Food Bank for the Heartland to raise money for those less fortunate in the Omaha Metro area.  To Summarize, Friday Nov 30th, at the 21st Saloon 3D In Your Face along with The Glam Gore Girls will be taking donations for the Food Bank of the Heartland.

Put your HAIR IN THE AIR and crank it to 11.  Lets party.

I Am Thankful For Pants.

Welcome to HAIR IN THE AIR the official Blog for 3D In Your Face.  Thanksgiving is right upon us and I wanted to do a special Thanksgiving edition of HAIR IN THE AIR.  But I want to do something a little different.  3D In Your Face isn't your normal rock n roll band and because of that I want to give you, the reader, a little something extra.  I am so proud to say that we have finally hit over 1,000 pageviews.  My goal was 1,000 and we took that puppy for a walk.  So sit back and enjoy the Thanksgiving edition of HAIR IN THE AIR.

Thanksgiving has been one of my favorite holidays for as long as I can remember.  It ranks right up there with Christmas and the Fourth of July.  I look forward to this joyous holiday even more now because I don't live in my hometown and this band keeps me so busy I rarely ever get to see my family.  The traditions and celebrations, the food, the company, and the chance to be at home all combine to make Thanksgiving a holiday I don't ever want to miss.  Lately as I have been browsing my news feed on facebook, I am reminded of a Thanksgiving tradition that I absolutely dread. Ever year this age old tradition sneaks up on me and I promise myself "Next year I will be prepared".  I like to think that every family experiences this tradition in one way or another and certain people are better at handling the pressure than others.  I unfortunately am one of those people that crack under the pressure.  What is this time honored family tradition that I speak of?  It is none other than "Lets go around the table and everyone say something they are thankful for" game.

Let me start you from the beginning here and explain myself a little better.   Imagine this, I am forced out of bed at some inconceivable hour (roughly noon).  I have to get dressed and brush my hair which has no chance in hell of looking normal.  I must wash all the makeup off your eyes, so as not to look disrespectful.  I am then hustled into a car and driven off to meet my waiting family.  This is all pretty normal  so far, and I love seeing my family.  They kick so much ass you wouldn't believe if I showed you.  By this time I am famished.  I am like a Grizzly bear just waking up from winter hibernation.  The greatest meal of the year is spread out before me.  Everyone takes there places and the anticipation grows ("Save the neck for me Clark").  Then the exact moment that grace has been said, and the potatoes are about to be passed, someone pipes up "Why don't we go around the table and give everyone a chance to say what they are thankful for".  Damn it, I forgot again.  I had the whole car ride to prepare and I have nothing.  My mind has blanked out.  So it begins.  My brother hits a home run with "I am thankful for this food we are about to eat".  Sister a line drive "I'm thankful that everyone traveled safe to get here".  My other brother "I'm thankful for all the new additions to the family".  Then all eyes are on me, I begin to sweet.  Damn I have nothing and we can't begin dinner until I say something I am thankful for.  Don't get me wrong I am thankful for a lot of things and on a normal day I could write you a three page list.  But at this exact moment everyone of those things has left my mind. So I say the only thing I can think of.    "I am thankful for pants, I guess."  Pants! Really, you said you were thankful for pants?  As much as I love pants, dad isn't going to be so thrilled with the idea of turkey, stuffing, babies, and pants.  The moment passes and I vow "Next year I will have the best one ever, my family will cry tears of joy when they hear what I am thankful for."  Of course this never happens.

What does all this have to do with 3D In Your Face?  Well we have started our own little tradition. I won't lie to you, we as a band do not always get along.  We are brothers and we fight like any band has a tendency to do.  People get negative and say things they don't mean and we have to pick up the pieces and move on.  We love each other but living with three other guys for a long period of time gets a little heated.  So whenever things start to get dark, I mean really start to turn south, someone will eventually pipe up and sing this song.  This song has pulled us out of many tense moments.  Do you remember that scene in Ghostbusters 2 when they fill the Statue of Liberty full of slime?  They use New York City's positive energy to move The Statue and defeat Vigo The Carpathian.  When ever negativity tries to destroy 3D In Your Face, it is the responsibility of the one of the other guys to sing "Your love keeps lifting me higher. Than I've ever been lifted before."  So in this time of celebration lift your love up.  Lift that love higher than it has ever been lifted before.

And don't for get.
I am thankful for PANTS.

We are coming at you hard this Friday and Saturday.  Friday, Nov 23rd we will be in Omaha at the 21st Saloon.  The show starts at 9:30 and our special Friday Night Sponsor is going to be the Omaha Zombie Research Society.  The will be doing a special Q and A regarding all things undead.  They will also have merchandise for sale and a slide show presentation about what to do when the Zombie Apocalypse happens to you.  Saturday we will be in Rock Port, MO at the Black Iron Grille.  If you have never been down there you wont want to miss out.  The food is great, the smokes are cheap, and those crazy people in Missouri sure know how to throw and all-out 80's blockbuster.  ROAD TRIP.  See you all soon and enjoy the holiday.  I know I will.

When All Your Cards Have Been Laid out.

First and foremost I just wanted to thank everybody who reads this blog and also for coming to see 3D In Your Face live.  In just a few months HAIR IN THE AIR will have had over 1000 views from crazy heavy metal fans all over the world.  When I first started writing HAIR IN THE AIR I didn't think it would take off like it did.  Thank you again for finding this and taking the time to read it.  To quote Mr. Lewis, "The Heart of Rock N Roll is Still Beating".

Recently it was brought to my attention that 30 years has passed since the dedication of the Vietnam Memorial.  This coinciding with Veterans Day here in America really made me take a minute a reflect on all those soldiers fighting for our right to be free.  My grandfathers were Korean Vets and my best friend and 3D In Your Face guitar player is an Afghanistan and Iraq War Vet.  Some of my fondest memories were stories my grandfather would tell about this far off land and a distant war.  He had such honor and charisma, and I knew he had seen just about everything imaginable.  But every time I saw him he made it a point to ask how my band was doing and where are adventures had led us.  Same thing with Snyper, our guitar player.  Some of my favorite memories from this last tour where on the bus rolling down the highway at 5 AM after a gig.  Snyper would tell those of us still awake about his time spent over seas, jumping out of planes, sleeping in the desert, and eating tree bark.  He was in the thick of it, and survived it all.  The stories could last for hours but I never ever got tired of hearing about these distant places and these honorable men fighting for our country.

So where am I going with this.  Well, because of the actions of these brave men and women we get the chance to live free of oppression.  We have been given the chance to be the people that we want to be.  I am eternally thankful for the price that the men and women of the armed forces have payed for us.  They have made the ultimate sacrifice.

I am finishing up a song (hopefully for the new album) that is my way of honoring those that came before me.  My grandfather may not have liked heavy metal music but he sure supported me and drove me to do my best in every aspect of my life.  If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.  I get the chance to stand up on stage every night and scream as loud as I can, that I still believe in Rock N Roll.  It's not about fame, money, drugs, or women.  It never was about those things.  It's about that un-explainable energy and feeling you get when you hear Highway To Hell by AC/DC played as loud as the stereo goes.  We as a band get to preach the good word of Rock N Roll to you crazy heavy metal maniacs every night and if that isn't freedom than I don't know what is.  Here is a little snippet from the song I am writing "Someday down the line when all your cards have been laid out in front of you.  What will you remember?  What will you have stood for?"

This Friday Nov 16th, 3D In Your Face will be back at the 21st Saloon 96th and L st. Omaha.  Thank you to everyone who showed up last week, what a party.  This week we are thrilled to have Cafe L as our Feature Friday Night Sponsor.  Cafe L is located two doors down from the 21st Saloon on 96th and L st and serves some of the most delicious food the band and I have ever tasted.  They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with a great selection of homemade desserts.  The prices are reasonable but most importantly, Lou the owner, loves what he does and it shows in everything he makes.  Cafe L will be serving you an amazing array of food right inside of the 21st Saloon.  So bring your appetites and get ready to have some fun.  We have some new songs to debut and don't worry we won't skip out on any of your old favorites.

See you all soon.
And never forget..........

And That's When It Got A Little Hazy.....

What a weekend we had.  For those of you just joining us 3D In Your Face traveled to the western Nebraska town of Kearney.  I feel Kearney, NE is our home away from Omaha.  6 years ago our old guitar tech Shy Boy dragged me out to Kearney, NE to a club called Maxwell's, to help tech for this wild 80s hair band, 3D In Your Face.  It was love a first sight.  I was under age (sorry mom) but I got into the show because we were the crew.  Before we left I sprayed my hair pink and put on eye liner (this was before the HAIR IN THE AIR took over).  Shy Boy told me the guys would give me shit for looking like this.  I really didn't understand.  We were going to tech for an 80s hair band right?  Boy was he ever wrong.  We walk into the club and I meet all the guys.  They are all wearing tight pants with puffy hair and makeup.  I had seen 3D In Your Face before a few years back, at an outdoor festival but for some reason I wasn't impressed (I learned later from Hot Rod that the drummer downed a bottle of Tequila before that show).
Hot Rod at Maxwell's 2005

I was absolutely spell bound by the stage show, the lights, the PA stacks, and musicianship of this band.  They didn't even seem like the same band that I had scene a few years back.  I wasn't a rookie to the rock n roll scene.  I had done a few national tours with my punk band Officially Terminated, but this was something else completely new and different.  Soon the club filled up and the band really started to hit it's stride.  3D In Your Face has always been a great band but when a crowd really sinks it's teeth into the band, the four guys on stage become unstoppable.  From the first song to the last song hundreds of people were singing along and going crazy for 80's hair metal.  I knew every word to every song.  Even though I was playing a punk band I was still a die hard 80's hair metal fan.  I asked Shy Boy if this was normal because I had never seen this kind of crowd reaction for an original band or a cover band for that mater.  He smiled and said "buddy this is only the second night, wait until tomorrow".

Maxwell's pack in 2005

The band finished the show and commenced to party like true rock stars.  I came to find out that they actually had a tour bus that the entire club was invited to for an after show party.  Not in my wildest dreams could I have imagined hanging on a bus and partying with everyone from the show.  It was absolutely nuts.  This is where things get a little hazy   I don't remember the after party or where I crashed but I do remember one hell of a hangover the next day and thinking "How in the hell can we do another show tonight that will top the night before?".  3D In Your Face stepped up to the plate and blew my mind.  From that fateful weekend journey to Kearney, NE, I have traveled with this band across the country.  We have done some of the wildest and strangest shows you could ever imagine.  It has been the hardest trip of my life but it also has been the most rewarding.  And trust me I don't take any of it for granted.  There was a lot of hard work that went into 3D In Your Face before I joined, and for that I am respectful and honored to be a member of this band.

Current 3D In Your Face (minus Hot Rod) at Shooters Kearney, NE 2012

The first month of our End Of The World Tour has come to an end and I believe most of the bugs and stress we were experiencing has gone away.  There is no end to this tour insight but I do believe we are building to a culmination.  There are a few things I can see on that horizon.  New Years is going to be big, but even bigger than that will be a new original 3D In Your Face record.  We have been busting our ass' to write this record and still deliver the best 80's Rock N Roll show to all you fans across the country.  Believe me when I say you will have new music from us sometime before we kick off our summer leg of this tour (Is that broad enough for you?).

This week we will be back in Omaha at the 21st Saloon for the first ever 3D In Your Face--Air Guitar, Lip Sync, and Look Alike Contest.  We are formally inviting all our fans, on Friday Nov. 9th, to come play on our stage.  It is your turn to be the star, to command the audience, to climb that stairway to the Rock N Roll heavens.  You pick the song and you crank it to ten.  Dress to impress because you will be scored by three unbiased judges.  The overall champion will be awarded the golden  3D In Your Face guitar of destiny and $100 courtesy of Phillips Wiring.  Second and third places will be awarded the silver and gold guitar of destiny and $50 courtesy of Phillips Wiring.  For the official rules check out or Facebook event page.  The first round starts promptly at 10:30 PM.

Are you ready for a new era of 3D In Your Face?  Are you ready to have some fun?  See you on Friday.

A Long Overdue Thank You

Hello again and welcome back to the Official Blog of 3D In Your Face.  This week blog is kind of a personal one for the band.  We as a band get so wrapped up in playing and entertaining you crazy heavy metal maniacs that sometimes we loose site of the people that help us along the way.  I have been a part of 3D In Your Face for 6 years now, and some of these people have been with us since the beginning.  I want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the men and women who help make this band what it is.  They have been there through the good times and bad times.  They have logged thousands of miles with us every year.  They have set up gear in every weather condition known to man.  They have slept on the bus with no heat, on the floor with no bed, and in the back of trucks rolling down the highway.  With this blog we are here to celebrate our faithful ROAD CREW.  These people have seen it all and still I can count on them for anything at anytime.  THANK YOU.  You guys are the ROCK to our ROLL.  Here we go.

First up is the guy that has been with us the longest.  Aaron Craig aka Thunder.  He has been with 3D In Your Face since time began.  Well not really that far back but he started before I joined on so it has been a long ride for him.  Aaron has the hardest job of all, he is our Sound Engineer.  He is the guy that sets up and tears down the PA every night.  He is the guy that knows what everyone of those knobs on the sound board does.  He has to hear us at our worst and then deal with us after the show.  But at the same time he makes us sound our best every time we hit that stage.  I really look up to this guy, he has been doing this since before I could tie my shoes.  He has seen things I can only dream of and has stories that only seem true in those rock n roll fairy tale books.  He is our Obi-Wan and the force is very strong with this one.

Next we have Dave Frame aka Lightning, our Lighting Engineer.  Dave has probably the biggest work load out of anyone in this band.  He has to set up and tear down an always changing lighting rig.  We always are looking for the newest and best light show to bring you, and he is the guy that is one step ahead of the game.  From the moment that trailer doors open to the moment he lays down to sleep this guys is working.  If you have ever seen a 3D In Your Face show you will know that Dave doesn't take his job lightly.  He is in tune with every song, with every beat, and with every lyric.  If there is one guy outside of the band that I can safely say is our manager, it is Dave.  After every show we run down the goods and the bads.  He tells  me very honestly what he liked and what needs to change in our show.  Dave is there at every load in and load out even if he has been up for 24 hours.  I look up to Dave like my Rock N Roll father and I trust every piece of advice he gives me.  He is another one of these guys that has been through it all and seen things I could only dream of.  He is our Yoda.  The strongest Jedi master of them all. (Thanks for letting me crash on your floor for the last 6 years.)

In the last few years this man has become a beacon of light in our little world.  Troy Way is another one of our Sound Engineers.  Through and through this man is a true fan of heavy metal Rock N Roll.  We've spent a lot of time with Troy and he has shown us a lot.  He isn't afraid to tell you how it is, even if it isn't good.  But Troy is also one of the funniest people I have ever met ( I even named my pet fish after Troy).  It seems like Troy is always up at the butt crack of dawn doing what sound guys do, being productive.  I can always count on him to deliver a loud ass show and mix a rock band like a rock band should be mixed.  And buddy if you don't like it loud your in the wrong fucking place.  Troy is a great friend that knows how to make me laugh even when things are shitty.  Troy is our Anakin Skywalker.  Strong yet dark.

The newest member to the road warriors is Jason Husak.  I haven't known Jason for very long but in the short time I have known him he has become my ace in the hole (no pun intended).  Whenever things get a little hairy I can always count on Jason for positive moral support.  He is also a hell of a Guitar Tech.  He has to deal with us on a personal and professional level.  Every little thing we need it is his job to make sure it gets taken care of.  I'm not sure he knew what he was getting into when he joined on as our Guitar Tech, but he has handled every task like a true professional.  Along with his guitar tech skills, Jason is also an amazing photographer.  He has taken well over 1000 pictures of the band at shows all over the country.  He is another one of those guys that is truly in love with Rock N Roll. I look forward to having this guy in my corner for a long time.  Jason is our Luke.  Young and ready for action.

Sean Soucy is another one of our guitar techs that only has a few shows under his belt.  But he has done some of the hardest shows we have ever been apart of.  I met Sean a few years back when I was playing in his band Eponymous.  From the first time we met, I knew this guys was the real deal.  We hit it off and I invited Sean out on a few shows this summer.  Coming on as the new guy is always hard but he more than handled every job that was asked of him.  Sean loves music and it shows in everything he does.  A true rock star and a great friend.  It is always great to look over my shoulder and see Sean on the side of the stage.  Sean is our Han Solo.

And last but not least Sierra Matthew.  Sierra has been the only female in a male dominate band for more years than I can remember.  Her skill for selling merchandise is only matched by her creativity in bringing us new merchandise ideas.  Along with social networking and internet support, Sierra has humped her fair share of gear over the years.  Sierra has also contributed greatly to our onstage costume design.  Every day Sierra inspires me to do better and reach farther.  Her support is unwavering.  So it is no surprise that Sierra is our Leia.

It can never be said enough times.  THANK YOU.  Without you we are nothing.

This weekend 3D In Your Face will be in Kearney, NE.  We will be playing Friday, Nov 2nd and 3rd at Shooters.  Kearney is our home away from home and is always a wild time.  Look out western Nebraska here we come.

War Stories Pt.1

Hello to all you hairy Rock N Roll fanatics.  For this weeks blog, I am going to try something a little different.   3D In Your Face has been performing, touring, and recording music for nearly 13 years.  In that time you better believe we have racked up our fair share of 'life in a traveling rock n roll band' stories.  I am going to do my best to remember some of these stories but I also want to encourage you to share your own 3D In Your Face war stories.  Feel free to post about your adventures on the way to our show, a wild night at a 3D In Your Face, or on your way back from our show.  We only get to see half of what happens on stage and we want to know what happened to you at a 3D In Your Face show.

3D In Your Face is blessed to be not only an original heavy metal glam band but we are also the nations number one 80's hair metal tribute band.  Because we play both originals and covers we are constantly get offers to play private parties everywhere across the country.  We jump at everyone of these offers because we know how wild a private party can be.  For this story we were on a three day tour and our second stop was a private party in Holdredge, NE.  Every year this couple invites all of their friends over to their farm house near Holdredge for a wild blow out party.  We got to play this party for a few years and always looked forward to it.  Imagine our tour bus rolling into this beautiful mid-western farm community.  We set all our gear up on a concrete slab that sits right outside of the barn.  I know what your thinking.  Really is this the place for an 80's big hair rock n roll blow out.  Well, after a big bbq feast and a few rather stiff drinks the party gets underway.

The crowd of around 200 rolls in around 10 PM ready for some fun.  The show goes off without a hitch.  After the music is when the story gets good.  At 1 AM all the farm boys turn into stage hands except everyone is hammered.  So we get the bus loaded and everyone crashes out for the night except me and the farm boys.  They ask me if I have ever started an irrigation pivot.  Of course me being a city boy I answer "No, but I would love to".  I always need to try something new or have a good story for when I get back.  So me, forgetting rule number one about touring (never leave your bus) I jump in the back of their pickup and speed off into the cool country air.  After a few miles we come upon said irrigation pivot.  I hop out still in full stage clothes and makeup and head straight to the motor of this mammoth beast.  After a quick lesson on how to get this thing started I turn the key and this massive farm implement kicks into high gear.

I have never heard anything this loud and remember I play in a band with the loudest guitar player on the planet.  I jump out of my skin and took a few steps back and my farm boy, stage hand friends just cackle at this city boy turned night farmer.  I couldn't believe the power and noise this thing emitted.  But the fact of the matter was that we were surrounded by nothing for miles upon miles.  Then it kind of hit me that I was in the middle of Nebraska in a corn field at 3 AM with a bunch of strangers.  I must have made a good impression because I can't remember when I laughed so hard.  They took me back to my bus as the sun was coming up, we popped a few wheelies in the farms golf cart and then I called it a night or day.

None of my band mates believed me when I told them the story the next day.  "You did what?  You went where?  With who?".  I will always be the first guy to try something crazy or new while we are out on tour and this was by far one of the wildest things I have ever done.  SPADE the farmer, except I don't wear hats.

This is just one of my stories and believe me I have more than you will ever need to hear.  Now it's your turn.  Post away.  I want the wild, the obscure, the nasty, and the bold.

Through Music We Can Live Forever

Hello again to all of you wonderful heavy metal, HAIR IN THE AIR, 3D In Your Face fanatics.  I wasn't sure what to write about this week in our blog, then something came to me.  We played two great shows this week and we were surprised at all the new faces in the audience.  The first show was at the 21st Saloon, our normal Friday night show.  Like usually our rabid fans were out in force, but we also welcome a lot of new comers.  Susan from Omaha Night Out stopped in a took a ton of pictures which we always love.  The boys from Hidden Agenda showed that they were not afraid to party like mother fucking rock stars.  Our Norfolk fan base decided to take a road trip and see the band on it's home turf.  Our lovely sponsors Gloss Hair Salon showed us why we teamed up with them in the first place.  Pure Rock N' Roll energy.  The IN YOUR FACE table was louder than I have ever heard.  The always faithful Tomasello crew sang every word to every song and knew the set list better than we did.  Ron Mcquire had a table as did Ritchie Ritz.  Also they guy I talked to last week about "keeping Rock N Roll alive" was there again.  The great team from EZ Money never disappoints.  Jason Sprinkel and his lovely wife payed us a visit and left with their Faces Rocked Off (thank you Jason, it's catching on).  Even our vacationing sound man Aaron, showed up with a freshly toured Johnny Metal and Sheena the punk rocker.  I'm sure I am forgetting a ton of people, but hey it's tough to remember three days ago.

Our Second show of the week was in Benson at the Waiting Room for the 8th annual Zombie Walk.  Tuco and the rest of NYDM went with an 80's theme and we were only too happy to bring them the best Rock N Roll 80's show we could possibly deliver.  I still had makeup on from the night before and I still was dressed down compared to the 3000 zombie army roaming the streets of Benson.  The show was amazing and we played with some really great bands, which is something we don't get to do that often.  Bolzen Beer Band from Lincoln, The Bishops, and Narcotic Self paved the way for us.  This was the first time 3D In Your Face has ever played The Waiting Room and we took the stage with a new energy that I have never seen before.  As for the audience they were insane.  Everyone dressed up like zombies.  Pints upon pints of fake blood spilled everywhere.  The ZRS research team was in the front row.  Complete with overdosed zombie groupies (thanks Toxie), and head banging front row fanatics, we were blown away by the response we receieved.  Also the fresh faces Tina Fox, Kat Jones (zombie Dee Snider), and Chad from the Filthy Few made this one of the funnest nights I have had in 3D In Your Face.

So here we stand at the edge of another weekend.  What do we have in store for you this week you ask?  Well this Friday like all other Fridays 3D In Your Face will be embarking on our 3rd week at the 21st Saloon.  We have decided to make this weeks theme Heavy Metal Arts and Crafts.  I'm serious here.  I know we have a lot of creative people in our audience and damn it I want to see it.  A few weeks ago we asked you to make us signs like you used to see at concerts back in the day.  There were a couple signs made but we want more.  In true 3D In Your Face fashion we want them bigger and badder.  So we are going to supply every person in the bar with cardboard, markers, and glitter.  We want to see how creative and crazy our fans can be.  Then we will post pictures of these works of art all over the internet for everyone to see.  Sound fun?

Tell your friends and spread the word.  This Friday at the 21st Saloon, 96th and L st. Omaha NE will be the first ever Heavy Metal Arts and Crafts Expo featuring the music of 3D In Your Face.  Feel free to bring your own supplies and get wild as you want.  There are no rules except to have fun.  Show starts at 930 pm and get there early.

Don't forget we have been busting our asses for you on all these new social media sites.  Please take a minute and 'like', 'follow', and 'add' 3D IN YOUR FACE.
