The Moments That Never Fade Away

HELLO! Everybody and welcome to HAIR IN THE AIR, The Official Blog of 3D In Your Face.  I hope you are ready for a barn burner of a blog this week.  I promise I wont hold out on until the last minute like I did last week.  Just needed a little inspiration if you catch my drift.  Before we get crazy a little update on the "Forbidden City" music video.  As I am writing this we are at 3,384 views.  The way this baby is going it's going to top the "In Your Face" video in a month.  Making waves.  Keep up the sharing.  I have to tell you I am very excited to be getting out of town this week.  We are playing two shows this weekend which is just music to my ears.  I have been waiting so patiently for the slow season to wind up.  Get me out there where I do best.  Friday, Jan. 23rd we will be raising some hell inside of The 21st Saloon.  This week our good friends at Magnum Pro Wrestling will be sponsoring the event.  Bring your foam fingers, title belt, and knee pads it's going to be one of those kind of nights.  Saturday, Jan. 24th we are headed south across the boarder.  That's the Nebraska boarder to Beloit, KS for a very special show at Down Under.  If you remember the last time we went to Beloit we got trapped inside of a steel horse barn as a tornado passed over the town.  It hailed for an hour straight. AHHH memories.  Don't miss your chance to see us this week

Earlier I told you about our little trip to Beloit, KS.  Let me tell you that was one of the scariest experiences of my life.  We always seem to have those experiences.  Every year there are a few nights you just think that this might be the way it ends.  I'm not trying to be a downer on this blog but I always realize something everytime we have one of those close calls.  If this was the way I was suppossed to go, then I am happy that it's with my best friends while we are out on the road together.  It's the most Rock N Roll way to die except maybe hookers and cocaine but that even rubs a lot of people the wrong way.  Sure I would rather be with my loved ones and have the chance to say goodbye but there is just something so romantically tradic about the whole thing.  The rest of the guys and the band have all been through these hairy times.  Storms, bus problems, and fires.  You make peace with it and enjoy every moment that is happening around you.

The same can be said about those trule amazing moments that happen in your life.  Those magical nights where everything goes right and the world is at it's knees.  Those are the kind of night you remember forever.  Those are the kind of nights you save in the back of your head to tell your grandkids.  And believe me I have had way more of these nights then the ones mentioned above.  Really when you think about both of these kind of events as you are living them you never actually realize the scale of the situation.  It's not until after the moment has passed and you have a chance to breath and reflect can your really judge the outcome.  One of our favorite past times on the bus is to tell old war stories about the wildest show we ever did, the lousiest show, the coldest show, the most dangerous.  Believe me I have some whoopers and the best thing about them is that I have three other guys sitting next two me that lived the exact same moments I did.  The big shows, the small shows, the shows that seemed like a waste of time but really were the most fun.  Every time I turn to these guys I remember that we have been through a whole heap.  Not just the boys in the band but the crew as well.  Our crew is some of the craziest bastards to walk the planet and I am proud as hell to have them on our side.  I keep telling myself that life is all about experiences.  Get out there and live a little.  Soak it up and breath in the cool air of being alive.

If It's Coming From Anywhere Else It's All Bullshit.

Hello everybody and welcome to HAIR IN THE AIR, The Official Blog of 3D In Your Face.  Coming to you by way of Omaha, NE today.  I was contemplating writing this weeks blog but I got some great ecouragement that made me realize that this thing is not just about me it's about you guys.  So here we go.  The most important thing going on in our world right now is our new music video.  I know you are sick of hearing about it but I have a little followup for you.  Our third single and new music video for "Forbidden City" is just nearing 2,000 views in under a week.  For our last video we were averaging 1,000 views a month.  Put that in your vape and puff on it.  Please keep sharing and hashtagging #forbiddencity.  I want to thank everyone for purchasing a shirt or hoodie.  Thank you for being apart of this video.  I said this at the show last week but this video is for you, the 3D In Your Face Army.  This isn't for us.  As much as we loved writing and creating this thing I did it with you people in the back of my mind.  We wanted to give you something to hold on to.  Something that you can show your friends and family.  This is forever yours.

We are back in action this week Friday, Jan. 16th at The 21st Saloon in Omaha, NE.  I want to see you scream.

Also we are now booking shows for our end of winter, spring, and summer tours.  If you are a promoter, club, booking agent, or event planner we want to talk to you.  Please email amking4@cox.net.  Also if you want to see 3D In Your Face in your town please email too.  We promise to respond back to every email.  Our bags are always packed and we are ready to cruise.

This week I want to talk about the music plain and simple.  The super powers that the music has over my entire being.  I know that I am not alone in this and that's really the cool thing.  It's like preaching to the choir.  Lately I find myself being completely lost in the music and I'm not talking just Rock N Roll.  A few blogs back my New Years Resolution was to pure and simply LIVE.  To experience life.  The biggest thing was to experience the music.  To open up and let it touch that raw nerve.  The entire reason that the songs were written was to express the emotions of the writter.  Well, we you realize this and take it in it becomes your own emotion.  I have found myself lately being drawn to goosebumps and even tears by songs on TV or on the radio.  Last week I saw The Misfits, a horror punk band.  They played a song called "Scream".  I was surrounded by hardcore punk rockers and I was so choked up that I could barely sing the lyrics.  Now what is this?  It was a happy moment that brought me so much joy that the only way I could express myself was by getting choked up.  Now that is truly the most punk rock thing I have ever felt.  The music and the vibe washed over my entire body and took me to another place.  The same thing happened Saturday at my stepdad's barbershop choir's Christmas party.  All the chorus members stood up and sang "Go The Distance" accapella.  BAAM.  Goosebumps and the lump in my throat.  I look over and my mom is balling.  She totally gets it.

Now that I just admitted that sometimes I cry when I hear a song that really speaks to me.  Granted this is just one emotion that music brings out but I can completely gaurantee that there is at least one song out there that causes everybody to tear up.  Rock N Roll is based on the blues and the blues come from straight pure emotion.  If it's coming from anywhere else it's all bullshit.

Your Last Little Tease (More Still Photos).

Hello everybody and welcome to HAIR IN THE AIR, The Official Blog of 3D In Your Face.  The week is finally upon us.  We are in the home stretch now and I can see the finish line right ahead.  If you have been living under a rock for the last week or so you may not have heard that this Friday, Jan 9th we will be officially releasing our third single and music video for "Forbidden City".  After what seemed like an eternity but actually was 4 months of work we finally have the finished product.  Partridge Pictures delivered the video we have all watched it and have approved.  The video is acutally on Youtube as we speak but will not be published until 12:00 AM CST this Friday night (or Saturday morning).  We are so excited to be bringing you this video that we are throwing another video release party at The 21st Saloon this Friday, Jan 9th.  At Midnight we will stop the show and put the brand new video on every TV screen in the bar.  A "Midnight Devils" release if you will.  Also we are very honored to announce that model/actress/star of the new video Megan Monster will be on hand for the debut.  We will also be celebrating our good friend Richard Schultz's birthday.  Happy birthday buddy.  This show is sponsored by Pink Shugar Gourmet Cotton Candy out of Omaha.  Check their website for the best in locally made cotton candy.

So what's next?  There are so many things going on that this is really getting hard to keep track of.  Right now we are focusing on this new video release.  We are also spending a lot of time in the rehearsal room putting together new songs, and a new set list for the 2015 run.  Also in the works and never to be left on the back burner we are still working on new original tracks for our next album.  I know we promised you this album and believe me we are working our asses off to get you something in the next coming months.  I can safely say right now as we speak we are have 3 full songs demoed and ready to be layed down on recod.  KEEP THE FAITH my friends.

More summer bookings are starting to come in.  Now is the time of year that event organizers are putting together street dances, festivals, bike rallies, and 80's parties.  We desperately want to play in your city for your street dance.  We want to bring the excitement and Rock N Roll to your town if only for just one night (ehhhhhh).  Please if you know someone that is a promoter, event organizer, or booking manager get in contact with them and give them our email address.  Let's make this the greatest summer of our lives.  All booking inquiries please email Alan King at amking4@cox.net.

For now I will leave you with more still photos from the video shoot courtesy of Jason 'Chappy' Husak.  One thing somebody reminded me of this weekend is that I still need to get out there and live.  I am reminding you to do the same.  Get out of that comfort zone.  Reach for the stars and experience life.  This is our year and we will remember it forever.

Resolute This. "Forbidden City" Video Stills Leaked

Hello everybody.  I feel as if we haven't spoke in a few weeks.  Oh right that was my fault.  Welcome back to HAIR IN THE AIR, The Official Blog of 3D In Your Face.  Things have been quite wild around here and I didn't get a chance to write last week due in part to Christmas and our schedule.  As many of you know we have finished work on our new video for "Forbidden City".  Rumor has it that Partridge Pictures will be sending over the final edit anyday now.  You are in for a treat and I hope these still pictures from the video shoot wet your appetite, courtesy of Jason Husak.  The video itself was an absolute blast to create and shoot.  It still amazes me how fast our visions come to life.  We worked on this thing for a few months, writing and drawing ideas, then in a few hours time the thing is in the can.  The release of the video will mark the release of our third and final single from the "Midnight Devils" album.  We have officially begun work on next album, still untiled but we are making progress.  The show must go on and go it will.  We are back in action this Friday, Jan 2nd with our first show of 2015 at our Friday night residency, The 21st Saloon.  Things are starting to heat up for the spring and summer tour and I really can't wait to see what craziness 2015 throws our way.  Weather all them storms.

For this weeks blog I wanted to write about New Year's Resolutions.  If you tuned into my radio show of the same name last week we celebrate the ending of 2014 and the beginning of a new year.  The possibilites are endless.  First and most importantly of all we are starting the year with a new single and video.  BAM.  That is getting the ball rolling.  But my resolution this year is pure and simple.  I want to create.  I want to write.  I want to experience.  I want to play really hard and real loud.  I want to be inspired.  I want to be emotional.  2014 was a great year but I have learned so much and I want to put all these skills into action.  I want put out another album.  I want to film another video.  I want to play as many shows as humanly possible.  I want to have a voice.  Plain and simple, I want more of that magic that keeps you and I coming back for more.  That Rock N Roll magic that makes all those miles and early mornings completely worth it.  I want to get wild and crazy.  I want to dance and sing and rejoice in life with all of you wonderful people around me.

Great. Now we have a plan and that is all well and good but how do we make these things happen?  This is the part that isn't so easy.  For starters we need to let go of our preconcieved notions of comfortabilty.  To let go and forget that other people are watching.  To do something that is out of the ordinary even for Rock N Roll's standards. To reach and fail is human, to reach and succeed is the path to greatness.  Dream big my friends.  It's the beginning of the New Year and a world of possibilities lie infront of us.  It's pure and simple, for the most part the answer to the question is almost always going to be "YES".  My New Years Resolution this year is very simple but very powerful.  I resolve to spend more of my time living.  That's it.  Let the ball drop, let the celebration begin, because tonight we are going to be the ones with the biggest smiles on our faces no matter what happens.

"We've Had Our Share Of Close Calls" Happy Birthday Hot Rod.

Hello my Heavy Metal Maniacs and welcome to HAIR IN THE AIR, The Official Blog of 3D In Your Face.  Another week in and so much to do.  This is a very exciting time of year and we are going to try and squeeze in one more big bang before 2015.  The biggest news in our world is that we have officially set the date, Saturday, Dec. 20th for our music video shoot.  We have brought in the same producer from the "In Your Face" video, Jeremy Partridge of Partridge Pictures to shoot the "Forbidden City" video.  We are very excited to be also bringing in actress/model Megan Monster to perform in the video.  Intrigued yet?  This might be the most adventurous endevour we have ever taken on.  As far as the upcoming winter tour we will be announcing a few shows coming up in 2015 including Norfolk, Sioux City, and Wayne.  This week we are will be performing a very special one night only all out birthday bonza.  This Friday, Dec. 12th at The 21st Saloon we will be celebrating the birthday of our lead singer and founding member, Alan "Hot Rod" King.  This show will be sponsored by Shannon Jones and her new Nail Studio.  Also on hand will be Atomic Garage Flea Market and Gifts.  You know them you love them.  The only place to party this Friday will be at The 21st Saloon.  Bring your appetite, there is sure to be a mess of birthday cake.  You know how these things go.

Don't forget to vote for 3D In Your Face in the "Best of 2014" poll.  We have been nominated by Jim Santora's Rockcast Radio Show.  It only takes a second.

This week I was racking my brain on how to do a cool birthday blog for Hot Rod that I haven't done before.  After careful deliberation I have settled on a topic that paints the man himself as a true bad ass.  Many of you don't realize this but Alan not only is the lead singer and manager of 3D In Your Face but he also is man's the wheel whenever we leave town.  He has been the bus driver ever since I  joined the band and I have, for the most part, been his co-pilot.  For this birthday blog I want to take you on some of the crazier situations we have found ourselves in on the road that Alan has somehow driven us out of.  The last trip I remember on the bus was in Rockport, MO.  We drove all night from Iowa to Missouri and as we entered the venue around 5 AM we got stuck.  The stage was at the top of a hill on a golf course and the bus and trailer couldn't make the climb.  I thought we were fucked but Alan slowly backed the bus down the hill and with a running start crested the top with ease.  On the way home, due to poorly marked street signs we accidentally took a dead end.  Thanks to the kindness of a little old lady we made a 30 point turn in her front lawn and after a few sweaty minutes we  180'ed the bus and where cruising down the highway laughing about the whole experience.

Flat tires, leaking oil, head lights that dont work, windshield wipers, and malfuctioning defrost.  Rain storms, tornadoes, blizzards, no AC, clear skys, cross winds, early mornings, late nights, and even later days.  From the good to the bad Alan was there slamming down the gas pedal to get us to the next show all the while with a bus full of precious cargo.  On this birthday blog I want to thank Alan, my friend and bandmate for nearly 9 years, for always pushing us forward.  Thank you for always being there for me and the rest of the boys.  You will never realize how much it has meant to me that you have lead us into battle all these years.  Thtought the good times and the bad times we keep moving forward.  Happy Birthday and thank you for all the life leasons.  I have learned so much from you about being the best musician I possibly can.  After all those long nights driving around the midwest we have had our far share of close calls.  I wouldn't change any of it for the world.

Once again Happy Birthday my friend.  I hope we can make this the best birthday you've ever had.  If not we are going to try damn hard.

"The City Never Sleeps. The City Never Rests".

Hey everybody.  Welcome to HAIR IN THE AIR, The Official Blog of 3D In Your Face.  Right now I am coming to you a little later than I usually do.  Sorry I wasn't sure if I was even going to write the blog this week or not.  Nothing tragic just a lot on my plate, much like everybody else.  In just a few short hours I will be heading to Omaha to begin the work week.  Radio, rehearsals, shows, and much much more.  I know this happens every week but I am excited to get back with my bandmates.  My brothers in arms.  The most disfunctional family you could ever know, but someone I look forward to getting together with those guys.  This week we are only playing one show.  Friday, Dec. 5th at The 21st Saloon.  An all out bash.  Last week we were honored by the presence of some royal dignitaries from up North.  I wonder who is going to show up this week.  Friday's show is sure to be a blast and a half.  We have been diligintely adding new songs to our setlist.  Last week we debuted "Sweet Child O Mine" and "Love In An Elevator" to the Omaha crowd.  This week with the return of our beloved stage crew we will be playing a very special Joan Jett song.  Sung by our very own merchandise manager, Sweet D.  I just can't wait for that current to drop on Friday night.  The party really gets rolling when the wild ones are out.

3D In Your Face has been nominated by Jim Santora for The Rockcast Top 40 Poll for 2014.  If you remember back to January and February, we were in a heated race and actually took home the Triple Threat Championship.  An honor that I will never forget.  Go HERE and vote for 3D In Your Face.

This week marked the end of our "Forbidden City" crrowdfunding campaign.  My goal here is to shed a little light and answer any questions you may have about what we are trying to accomplish.  When we first set out to shoot our next music video we came across the perfect location.  The creative juices and ideas were really flowing.  I had happened upon this website that let you creat custom shirts to help fund whatever you wanted.  I thought that this would be the perfect way for you, our fans to be apart of this next music video.  The idea was to create a very one of a kind t-shirt that express the theme of the music video.  A time capsule of sorts only emblazened on the front of a t-shirt.  You will always remember where you were when you see that t-shirt hanging in the closet.  On the other hand I wanted to get this out quickly.  I didn't want this to take another 6 months of deliberation and arguing to make happen.  With the help of Corey, Lisa, and Scott Phillips, and many late nights we came up with the "Forbidden City" t-shirt which is now being printed as we speak.    Now the tough part began.  The scirpt for the music video was a whole other animal.  I believe we have crafted a very powerful script that will exactly capture the meaning of this song on film.  This video will not be anything like the "In Your Face" video.  A little darker, a little edgier, but still the same big haired bad boys you have come to love.

Stream "Forbidden City"

Right now we are coordinating with our amazing direct Jeremy Partridge, who filmed the last video, about the shoot date.  We have settled upon two days and we are just awaiting the go ahead to begin full fledged freak out.  I am coordinating with our amazing actress Megan, who some of you may remember from The Glam Gore Girls.  She will be the girl from the front of the t-shirt.   We are putting all of the pieces together for what is sure to be one of the hardest nights of our lives.  Honestly I can't wait.  It's a pleasure to stand up with my brothers and stare into the unknown and in this case it's a dark crypt inside an old monestary.  The song "Forbidden City" itself was our opening song throughout most of 2014.  I think it's only fitting that this next chapter in our career come from the begining of our last chapter.  Very very poetic.  By the way a little dirt on the new album.  Shhhhhh.  Just because you are HAIR IN THE AIR faithful you are privey to this knowledge.  As it sets we have demoed out three new songs.  One you have heard but two you haven't.  For now that is all the information I can give you.  A taste.  Just enough to wet your lips.

Watching Those Ungrateful Assholes At The Table

Hello everybody and welcome back to HAIR IN THE AIR, The Official Blog of 3D In Your Face.  Thanksgiving is upon us and this holiday weekend we have so much to be thankful for.  We have another great week of Rock N Roll coming up.  The 2014 tour continues right back home to Omaha this week.  This Friday, Nov. 28th we are back at The 21st Saloon for our second annual Black Friday Blow Out.  After all the turkey and stuffing, when the dishes are all put away and the table is clean, after the shopping and football what do you still have left?  That's right Rock N Roll.  We know this is going to be a huge party and everybody is celebrating the holiday so we have invited Dennis Roy Daugherty and Ancient Wisdom Massage to sponsor this weeks event.  Dennis will be offering free chair massage samples and $10 off gift certificates.  Now you can't say that we were never looking out for your health.  Hmm Rock N Roll, massages, and holiday weekend.  Call the cops this night should be illegal.

Also please don't forget about our crowdfunding campaign to help with the making of our next music video.  As of right now the "Forbidden City" T-shirt and Hoodies only have 7 days left before the camapign closes.  All of these products will ship before Christmas.  This artwork is limited and will never be used again.  So get your shirts and be apart of this next adventure with us.  Go HERE for the official t-shirt.  Go HERE for the official full zip hoodie.

When I was think about this weeks blog I wanted to write something that really captured Thanksgiving but was still not your usual dribble.  I thought a lot about the holiday traditions and the way these things are passed down from generation to generation.  For as long as I can remember I have spent Thanksgiving with my family back in Fremont.  We usually do the same thing, it's always very nice.  I love getting the chance to see my family but it never lasts long enough.  It always seems to fast.  For the last ten years my Thanksgiving tradition has always been to get back out there on the road and play on Friday night but for me that is completely normal.  I have grown to love spending holidays with my bandmates.  These guys are the best and we can always be ourselves around each other.  The laughs seem to never end.  Christmas, New Years, V-Day, 4th of July.  All of the holidays that most people celebrate with their families, we are together laughing a dick jokes and farting on each other.  This is my thanksgiving tradition and I wouldn't change it for the world.

This year as you all sit ackardly around the dinner table and share what you are thankful for, sit back and try and take it all in.  Think about what traditions you will be passing on to the next generation.  Think about all the great holiday dinners you had.  Think of all the football games you may or may not have watched.  Sooner or latter you'll be the grandparents watching your own children and grandchildren act like ungrateful assholes at the dinner table.  But those memories and traditions will live on forever.  A lot of the times I miss my grandparents but during the holidays they always stop by to say "Where guys playing next." or "How was the show last night".  The one thing my grandparents did was support me unconditionally, no matter how ridiculous I looked when I walked into Thanksgiving dinner.  Now that is the definition of family.  We as a band are lucky enough to be playing this Friday and we get to celebrate this great holiday with our 3D In Your Face Family.  The whole damn dirty lot of you are invited to our celebration.  Let's make some memories.
